Beer Description
Of German/Irish descent, we incorporated local Chinook hops, Irish yeast and Irish moss for clarifying the beer, as well as fermenting a bit colder and cold conditioning in German style.
Brewed with beer historian, Maureen O’Prey, this recreation of an 1870’s Porter brewed in Baltimore by Thomas Murphy Dukehart. Of German/Irish descent, we incorporated local Chinook hops, Irish yeast and Irish moss for clarifying the beer, as well as fermenting a bit colder and cold conditioning in German style. Dukehart was a Civil War Navy hero and taught at the Naval Academy, so this benefits the US Naval Academy Alumni Association:)
