Wine Description
Named for the old grist mill on the property, it was originally planted about 100 years ago by the Hambrecht family. The vineyard was replanted in 1973 and has been farmed organically since 2003. The iron-rich, red volcanic soils produce low yielding but concentrated fruit, perfect for Syrah. Grist Vineyard is also home to our friend Woody Hambrecht (grandson of the estate owner), formerly of Haus Aperitif and currently of Ami Ami Wine.
