Cannonball Sauvignon Blanc

The 2017 season began with a cold wet spring with bud-break occurring around mid-March in our coastal vineyards. The significant spring rainfall
was beneficial as it replenished soil moisture and refilled local reservoirs while fueling healthy growth in the vineyards. A little extra canopy management was required throughout the season to control the vigor of the vines and there were a greater number of bunches and looser clusters than typical. Summer brought along multiple heat spells which may have slightly reduced vine yields but ushered in an early harvest that continued at a steady pace until a late season heat spell ripened multiple varieties at once calling for a big push to bring it all in.
