Wine Description
The minimal rainfall and hot temperatures mean these grapes ripened up quickly and with a touch higher acidity without being diluted from excess rain.
New Zealand in general had a very early harvest in 2015 because of VERY hot and dry conditions, and an early frost. This also means the 2015 harvest is smaller than the 2014 because of smaller berry clusters, but should imply increased quality in the supply that is available.
The wine is expressive on the nose, with bright citrus, lemon zest, and grapefruit notes and subdued green bell pepper and fresh cut grass undertones. The mouth feel is incredible with racy acidity and fruit. It’s very crisp and clean and varietaly accurate of Sauvignon Blanc, with almost a hint of minerality on the finish.
