About the brewery
Old Beersel Brewery , founded in 1882, is located in Beersel 10 km southwest of the center of Brussels. It is one of the last authentic lambic breweries that Belgium is rich and is known for its traditional way and according to ancient tradition brewed lambic. Lambic aged up to three years in wooden casks, after which it is cut into Oude Geuze. By sour cherries on lambic to yeast and ferment in the bottle after Oude Kriek is born. This unique brewing process with spontaneous fermentation is possible in Belgium in the regions Pajottenland, the Senne valley and Brussels, and this by the presence of specific microflora. A lack of succession in the family business at the end of 2002, the traditional lambic beers of Oud Beersel their survival threatened. This traditional lambic brewery is now a modern way managed with respect for tradition and craftsmanship. The traditional part of the production of lambic beers, especially the spontaneous fermentation, maturation in barrels of Lambic Lambic and assembly of various vessels and volumes is the heart of the company. In close cooperation with quality partners who manage the industrial plants is the production completed. The synergy between craft and industry provides Oud Beersel authentic products of the highest quality. The success of the Bersalis specialty beers, high fermentation beers of Oud Beersel, is increasingly invested in the optimization of the production process, in achieving challenging standards and infrastructure for traditional lambic beers of Oud Beersel to meet the growing demand requirements.
