Beer Description

Piwo Grodziskie is a traditional beer specialty from Poland. This historic beer style owes its name to the town of Grätz or Grodzisk Wielkopolski, which is located southwest of Poznan. The palatable, top-fermented beer was already brewed and enjoyed here in the Middle Ages. Over the course of the 20th century, it was increasingly forgotten and eventually disappeared completely. It was not until the Polish craft beer movement that Grodziskie made a well-deserved comeback: in 2010, the Pinta brewery breathed new life into the old beer style.

Grodziskie celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2025. To mark this anniversary, there is now also a Schlenkerla interpretation of this Polish beer classic: Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier in the Grätzer style. We dry wheat smoked malt in our own malt house over an open fire made of oak wood. We use aroma hops from Lubelski for the fruity, aromatic hop note.

The result is a bottom-fermented, drinkable beer with a light smoky aroma, fruity hop notes, a fine-pearled carbonation and a very moderate alcohol content.
