Kings & Daughters City Stroll

The heat that week in Amsterdam was intense, but we didn’t let it slow us down. We walked six miles one day, eight the next, along every picturesque canal where delicate bikes with hefty locks were chained to their guardrails, across bridges adorned with flower boxes overflowing with little flowers of bright red, striped pink, deep purple, dazzling lilac, and pristine white. We walked by old brick buildings covered in murals and dripping with fragrant red summer roses, and glossy doors framed by hollyhock so heavy with pollen they may as well have had their red window lights turned on.
