Vibrant and joyful. It’s the promise of a new season and good things to come.

We refreshed Maienschein this go-round on a simple idea: small beer packed with flavor. Your go-to when you’ve got things to-do.

As we went about redesigning the beer, it became clear that we’d be exploring competing ends. Boost the flavor. Shrink the abv. Enhance the expression while increasing the drinkability. What you get with this push and pull is a delightfully bright, fresh, and balanced hoppy ale. Meyer lemon, new spruce tips, freshly cut hay, and grapefruit.

What’s Maienschein? It’s an uncommon German word describing a phenomenon we all experience around this time of year. When you look up into the canopy of a tree, you see a green and gold glow of sunlight through young leaves. That’s Maienschein. It translates to “May shine” or something close to that. Maienschein the occasion is easy to enjoy for a bunch of reasons. The same is true for this hoppy ale.
