Beer Description
Alma is a saison constructed around Oaxacan Green Corn malted by our friends at Sugar Creek. This unique corn dances with our house yeast to create a beer with notes of sweet yet earthy corn, lime zest, juicyfruit gum, grapefruit, and wet hay. The Zapotec people, who were the first to cultivate this varietal, have a belief that roughly translates to ‘maize has a heart/soul’. In brewing this beer we did our best to honor ‘el alma del maize’.
