Beer Description
Named after division commander Adolph von Stenwehr at the Batlle of Gettysburg.At When his corps was forced to retreat back through the town to Cemetery Hill, Col Charles Coster took a brigade of Steinwehr’s division out to the edge of the town, where it sacrificed itself buying time for the retreating soldiers of the other two divisions. This is a strong malty German wheat beer that combines the rich caramelized depth of a bock with the fruity/spicy character of a hefeweizen. We taste banana (from the wheat ale yeast), dark fruit and hints of toasted bread.
