Beer Description

In-your-face like a double barrel stout should be, but with layers of complexity from the range of ages on the barrels, rich undertones of brandy and berries, and so much oaky character you might not believe us that there’s no vanilla added.

This imperial stout blend was first aged in Stagg Jr 8-year, Elijah Craig 14-year, Weller 8-year, and Old Fitzgerald 19-year barrels for 21 to 25 months, then moved into Elijah Craig 23-year, Heaven Hill 12-year, Calvados Apple Brandy, and Superstition Blueberry Mead barrels for 9 to 14 months.

Has it been seven years already? We really wanted to put together something special for this anniversary stout, and this one was a long time in the making – not just for having aged nearly three years, but also the extensive blending trials we went through to dial it in until it really hit the mark for us.

We decided from the start that this should be a non-adjuncted stout, with all components having been double barrel aged. In the end we are extremely happy with the final blend. In-your-face like a double barrel stout should be, but with layers of complexity from the range of ages on the barrels, rich undertones of brandy and berries, and so much oaky character you might not believe us that there’s no vanilla added.
