Beer Description
The name was inspired by the subtle banana flavor in the beer, attributed to the use of Belgian style yeast. Considering what consumes bananas, a monkey comes to mind. An epic monkey? A gorilla. An epic gorilla? King Kong. Thus, the name for this substantial beer was born. It is an unconventional style for Epic, as they are predominantly recognized for producing bold, hop-forward IPAs. Recently, they observed that IPA enthusiasts are seeking a contrast in their beverages, prompting them to experiment with something distinct. Consequently, they have crafted a beer that employs a modest amount of Citra hops, deriving its flavor primarily from yeast fermentation and alcohol sweetness. Remarkably, it is unexpectedly smooth and enjoyable to drink, despite its 8% ABV.
