Beer Description

Born in 1512 in Rupelmonde Flanders, Gerardus Mercartor was the cartographer who created the first World Map.

Our Flanders Style Red Ale is created using our very own wild yeast culture and is aged in Pinot Noir barrels for 3 years. Gerardus Mercartor is as complex of a beer as those found in Belgium; its prominent flavors of plum and cherry are complemented by wine, oak, and horse blanket undertones that give way to a delightful sour finish. Burgundy in color and moderate effervescence, this beer is designed to drink like a fine champagne.

Our homage to a great style of beer and to the man who put the world on the map, our Gerardus Mercartor Flanders Style Red is here to put us on the map.
