Marlowe My Little Shadow

A base of IREKS Pilsner and Munich malts with a layering of specialty chocolate malt gives this beer a smooth chocolatey expression but finishes clean with our German lager strain. A slight @locherhopfen hop pop to balance out the malt characteristics. Lagered for 8 weeks at near freezing temperature (aka 2.5 times as long as a standard IPA brew), which is the longest we’ve allowed a beer to lager. You all REALLY enjoyed the young version of this, crushing through 4 1/2 bbls in 2 weeks, but this final version really is just that much cleaner and smoother.
It’s really cold outside and this beer couldn’t have been released at a more appropriate time. It’s one to drink by the fire under some blankets and pairs well with a hearty meal.
The beer is named after our cat, who loves to follow us around the house and watch with curious intent. He’s our sweet baby boy and has become quite the snuggle bug.
