Beer Description
We thought it was time for a rosé. You know, something whimsical and different for us and for you. That was the concept, anyway. To create New York Cider Company’s MONARCH, we started with a base of fruity, floral Newtown Pippin cider and, for color, infused it with Gewürztraminer and Cabernet Franc grape skins from a local winery. Well, the experiment yiclded more of a . . . saumon than a rosé. But what
a lovely salmon it is! Plus, the acids and tannins from the grape skins lend an exciting and unusual depth and complexity. Why the Monarch butterfly? Because we love the joyous spirit it brings to our orchards. Because we want everyone to be kind to this endangered creature and its habitat. And because it looks so damn good on a bottle. Enjoy cool.
