Fox Farm Witch Meadow

As each year comes to a close, we find time to fill spirit barrels—namely bourbon—with a particular eye toward future blends of Witch Meadow. The base recipes and processes may change, but the beer is always double-mashed and boiled long into the night. As summer wanes, we revisit those barrels from years past and begin preparations for a new blend of Witch Meadow. After eight years in this same rhythm, we’ve noticed an unmistakable trend, with one particular set of barrels producing exceptional stout. With that in mind, and through years of patient planning, this year’s Witch Meadow was aged exclusively in Willett Family Estate Bourbon barrels – casks that bear extraordinary whiskey and take our stouts in beautifully rich and complex directions. This year’s blend was aged an average of 18 months in those barrels, yielding a particularly expressive and refined vintage of the beer.
