Beer Description
Sometimes, we travel through life hemmed in by expectations, whether our own, or those of others. The standard expectation, with regard to coffee and chocolate in beer, is that said items are best, and perhaps only suited to porters and stouts. And yet, this retrofitted version of 1919, finished with dark roasted coffee beans from Intelligentsia, and Ecuadorian cacao nibs, indicates the opposite. Aromas of fresh roasted coffee and underlying chocolate, prior to flavors of more coffee, more prevalent chocolate, and toasted bread and nuts from the underlying beer.
