This pale bock beer from Germany’s Ettal monestary is deep golden in color with a rich, biscuit maltiness, balanced by just the right amount of bitterness from the Hallertau hops. Ettaler Hellerbock is a special stronger version of the brewery’s Heller lager, clocking in at 7.2% ABV, while remaining remarkably drinkable. The cloying overly sweet taste often associated with higher alcohol lagers is thankfully missing from this perfectly balanced lager beer, intended to be enjoyed in the warmer months of the year.
